A new favourite colour palette - inspired by the washed-out pinks and yellows of the houses in Lisbon's Alfama district - guaranteed to inject a feeling of warmth and sunshine. Areas of white and grey provide balance and calm. Keeping the colours washed through with white or grey where they're used for large areas knocks them back and stops them from being overwhelming. For borders and accents purer forms of the colours could be used for interest and definition. Farrow and Ball's Middleton Pink with Citron, or Pink Ground and Babouche would hit the spot.
